A few eyebrows were raised when the Dickinson at Fargo South playoff game was moved to the Fargodome on SUNDAY. In retrospect, it was the best decision because of field conditions.
Dacotah Field, NDSU's old stomping grounds, is in rough shape. The artificial turf is no better than an asphalt parking lot. There are places where it is torn and places where it is downright bad.
The goal posts are tilted. The scoreboard is shaky.
There are no other outdoor football fields in Fargo that can handle a big crowd, so it left the game's administrators little option.
